BlackBerry Messenger full release on iOS and Android postponed following leak

The service was previously only available on the Research in Motion produced phone and allowed users to send messages to each other.
It was meant to be released on Android devices on Saturday and then on the iOS platform a day later.
But this has been delayed because Blackberry says the app is not ready.
The company said in a statement: ‘Our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it’s ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM.’
Some users have been able to download BBM after an Android version was leaked and an iOS build was released for a short period of time before getting pulled.

Twitter user Marwa managed to download the leaked version but was not able to use it for long.
She wrote: ‘Had to delete bbm. they disabled the service so it weren’t working at all.’
Chloe Lee was left disappointed after she was unable to find it the app.
She added: ‘How are some people getting bbm?? I can’t even find it on the App Store.’
Blackberry has confirmed those that managed to download the iOS build will be able to continue using it but anyone with the leaked Android app will not.
It has not said when BBM will now be released on third-party phones.
